Vets

StaffDr Phillip Reeve BVSc CMAVA

A farmer’s son from Naracoorte in the South East of South Australia, Phil went to Sydney University in 1969 to become a large animal vet. Somewhere in the middle he met another vet student, courted and married her, and they established themselves as small animal vets in 1980 in Para Hills.

In 1983 they established what was to become Tea Tree Gully Veterinary Hospital.

Whilst raising a family of 3 children with Sue, the practice has grown to become a leading veterinary hospital in the Adelaide area. Phil’s main work interests are in consulting, management and surgery, though he defers to Sue for the more complex surgeries. Outside of work, Phil has been involved in their children’s school, Pedare Christian College, their local church St. Wilfrid’s, and the Paracombe CFS as a volunteer fire-fighter.

In 2003, our son, Mark graduated from vet school and joined the practice. We could not be happier having him working here now. Our 2 daughters have completed University studies and are working as a Dentist and a Pharmacist. Our animal family consists of two dogs and two cats.

After 25 years of vetting Phil still has a great passion for animals and their importance to us.

StaffDr Susan Reeve BVSc (Hons) CMAVA

Dr Susan Reeve graduated in sunny Queensland, moved to chilly South Australia. Part-time work and 3 children occupied many years and these days she spreads her time between work and her sewing machine. At work she is the principal surgeon and enjoys her work, gaining great pleasure from seeing pets go home with neatly sutured wounds and a better quality of life.

At home she loves to work with fabric making original clothes especially evening wear and patchwork. She enjoys being challenged at work and is currently developing skills with the ultrasound.

The family animals are 2 dogs and 2 cats and she is the main carer for them as the children have left home and left their pets behind! “Justice”, her mother would say, as Sue left a dog and Persian cat behind when she left home. The dogs are crossbred Bull Terriers which live outside. The tabby and tortoiseshell cats live upstairs.
